Other Activities
Worship Time
Every other week, the children go to the Rainforest Rally Room for Worship Time! The Children’s Pastor (Ryan Frazier) and the Puppet Ministry lead the children in a time to sing and wiggle for God.
Monthly Visitors
Monthly visitors vary slightly each year but here are a few examples of our guests and the experiences they offer to the children:
- The Albuquerque Fire Department comes to show the children their fire truck and equipment! The children have a chance to go inside the truck, hold the water hose (as water shoots out of it), and, most importantly, learn not to be scared of the firemen.
- As Christmas approaches, we welcome a few stable animals. The children have a chance to pet the animals and learn what Jesus’ stable might have looked like (or even smelled like).
- While the children celebrate a Birthday Party for Jesus, Santa Claus makes a surprise visit! Santa shares with the children that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas! We believe that when they hear the truth about Christmas out of Santa Claus’ mouth, it has a far greater impact than hearing it from parents and teachers’ mouths alone.
- When the homebuilder comes to visit Kids Express, the children have a wonderful opportunity to learn about tools and how we can use them to build a house. During this hands-on experience, they learn about tape measures, hammers, nails, wood, and more!
- We plan to have a professional Storyteller come to visit the children this year. We know that listening to stories promotes the children’s speech and language literacy and we are excited to watch the Storyteller capture the children’s attention by bringing the stories to life!
- Zoo to You is definitely a special treat! The children get to see and learn about a wide variety of wild animals that come to visit us.
Fall Events
- Homecoming: Children learn that they are a part of God’s royal family.
- Thank You Jesus Feast: Children learn that Jesus takes care of us.
- Birthday Party for Jesus: Children learn that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas.
